Each year, National History Day (NHD) uses a theme to provide a lens through which students can examine history. NHD is open to students in grades 6-12. The purpose of the competition is to encourage students to use critical thinking and research skills to make meaningful historical connections with a topic related to the annual theme.
The NHD 2024 theme is Turning Points in History. Students can choose topics from local, national, or world issues or events.
