Journal of Marriage and Family The Journal of Marriage and Family (JMF), published by the National Council on Family Relations, has been the leading research journal in the family field for more than 70 years and is consistently the most highly cited journal in Family Science. JMF features original research and theory using the variety of methods reflective of the full range of social sciences, including quantitative, qualitative, and multi-method designs; research interpretation; integrative review; reports on methodological and statistical advances; and critical discussion concerning all aspects of marriage, other forms of close relationships, and families. The journal also publishes brief reports.
Journal of Family Theory & Review The Journal of Family Theory & Review seeks to encourage integration and growth in the multidisciplinary and international domains of inquiry that define contemporary Family Science. The journal publishes original contributions in all areas of family theory, including new advances in theory development, reviews of existing theory, and analyses of the interface of theory and method, as well as integrative and theory-based reviews of content areas, and book reviews. The journal draws from a broad range of the social sciences, although scholarship is favored that is based within the disciplines of Family Science, sociology, and allied disciplines, developmental and social psychology, communications, and health and allied fields. Families are viewed broadly and inclusively to include individuals of varying ages and genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and nationalities.
Family Relations Family Relations is a publication of the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). Since 1951, the journal has published basic and applied articles that are original, innovative and interdisciplinary and that focus on diverse family forms and issues. Audiences include educators in academic and community settings, researchers with an applied or evaluation focus, family practitioners, and family policy specialists. Appropriate articles include empirically based applied research, educational philosophies or practices, critical syntheses of relevant substantive areas, program evaluations, curriculum development and assessment, issues in the discipline, professional development, and basic research with clearly articulated implications for practice and policy.
Journal of Family Psychology The Journal of Family Psychology® (JFP) is the premier family research journal. Family psychology is a complex field, as it includes systems perspectives on the multiple influences on relationships, developmental perspectives on how relationships are formed and sustained over time, cultural perspectives on how society and traditions affect relationships, the intersection of individual differences and social relationships, and practice components in how to affect real and meaningful changes in couple, parent, and family relationships.
Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences The Journal of Family & Consumer Sciences is the official publication of the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). Each issue of the Journal contains: scholarly peer-reviewed articles, practical information geared toward family and consumer sciences professionals, and news and information about AAFCS.
