Guide to help students find videos for academic purposes.

Types of Searching

There are several different ways you can search for videos in Films on Demand. From the main page you can do a basic search, browse subjects, or browse collections. The boxes on the right give more detailed information on each of these techniques.

Browsing

Films on Demand makes it easy to browse its subjects and collections. The main page has all of the major subject areas listed with sample videos and a link to "View all titles" within that subject area. A second option is to click on the "Subjects" tab at the top of the page, from which you can select the subject that interests you.

Once you've clicked on a subject, you can narrow your results by the box on the left.

You can also browse by collections by clicking on the "Special Collections" tab at the top of the page. Some of the collections include ABC News, The Bill Moyers Collection and Modern Marvels.
