News Sources

Newspapers, news magazines, and online news services provide timely information on events of all types, and are a good source for identifying the "hot" topics of a given time period.  They are particularly useful in tracking major geopolitical events, manmade and natural disasters, and also for following celebrities and other prominent people or organizations.

News Magazines

News magazines such as Time, Newsweek, and U.S.News & World Report are good sources for the major stories of a given week. 

The current issues of these and other selected magazines are available in Kent Library's Sadie's Place.  Additional issues may be located in databases or, using the library catalog, on microfilm.

Most news services now offer online outlets.  Some are freely available, some require establishing a user account, and some require subscriptions.  They are useful for recent events. Options include:
