Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP)
AWP provides support, advocacy, resources, and community to nearly 50,000 writers, 550 college and university creative writing programs, and 150 writers’ conferences and centers. Our mission is to foster literary achievement, advance the art of writing as essential to a good education, and serve the makers, teachers, students, and readers of contemporary writing.
Modern Language Association (MLA)
For over a hundred years the Modern Language Association and its members have worked to strengthen the study and teaching of language and literature.
The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)
Through collaboration and community, shared stories and shared experiences, NCTE supports teachers and their students in classrooms, on college campuses, and in online learning environments.
Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
TESOL’s mission is to advance professional expertise in English language teaching and learning for speakers of other languages worldwide.
Rhetoric Society of America (RSA)
RSA welcomes scholars, teachers, and students of rhetoric in all of its manifestations. RSA's purpose is to support and advance the work of people who study rhetoric in a variety of disciplinary contexts.
College English Association (CEA)
Since 1938, CEA has been a vibrant, growing professional organization of scholar-teachers who regard teaching college students, undergraduate and graduate, as the proper focus of the profession.
Academy of American Poets
Founded in 1934 in New York City, the Academy of American Poets is the nation's leading champion of American poets and poetry, with members in all fifty states. Its mission is to support American poets at all stages of their careers and to foster the appreciation of contemporary poetry.
