Designing a Research Poster for the Humanities: Getting Started

This guide will help students design and create a research poster suitable for showcasing their work and research in the humanities disciplines.

How to Begin

This "Getting Started" tab will help you with initial setup of your file and how to prepare it for oversize printing, if necessary.

It is recommended to use PowerPoint as the platform for you to design your poster.

Please watch the first video entitled: "Setup PowerPoint Slide for Posters: PC version" for information about setting up your single PowerPoint slide that will serve as your poster.

The second video entitled: "Download and Insert the University Logo" will show you how download and insert the University's logo on your poster. There is also more information about what other elements should be included on your poster under the "What Should Be Included" tab of this Guide.

The third video called "Export a PowerPoint File as a PDF for Printing" will show you how to save your PowerPoint file as a PDF for printing, if that is necessary.

Please watch all three videos before beginning work on the design of your poster. These videos will be useful to set up the foundation for your poster before you begin the design element and chose how you want to convey your research.
